The Right At School Community Informational Meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the Holly Avenue Elementary School Auditorium. Right At School is the new before and after-school program that we will be transitioning to in January 2017. Right At School staff, along with AUSD staff will be at the meeting to provide further details about the program and to answer any questions. We also have a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) to provide further information, and the original notification that was sent out last week is also below.
Several current Arcadia Unified employees have already been tentatively hired by Right At School, including one who has been promoted to be the Area Manager to oversee all the Right At School programs in Arcadia. The hiring process will continue at the end of October, and most of the other current staff, that students and parents are also familiar with, are expected to be hired as well. We will continue to work with Right At School to ensure a smooth transition for our staff, students, and parents.
Arcadia Unified is excited to partner with Right At School, a nationally recognized enrichment provider, to help provide a great community resource to our students and families.

Dear Arcadia Unified Parents and Community,
We wanted to make you aware of an exciting change to our before and after-school programs at our elementary and middle schools. The nationally recognized after-school enrichment provider, Right At School, is coming to Arcadia Unified. The Board of Education unanimously approved the decision on September 13, but the change will not take place until after Winter Break in January. An informational community meeting about Right At School will be held on Tuesday, October 18 to ensure a seamless transition. Arcadia Unified and Right At School staff members will be on hand to answer any questions and gather input from parents. Exact time and location will be finalized and sent out next week.
While hours and services will increase, fees will not. The hours will be extended and will be available 6:00am-6:00pm to offer parents more flexibility in their scheduling. Services will also be offered during Winter Break, Spring Break, Summer Break, and Teacher Collaboration days. Along with the scheduling flexibility, outstanding customer service, and homework support, Right At School has its own Director of Curriculum that will work directly with our Curriculum Department and staff to ensure an optimal academic experience. The dynamic curriculum will feature hands-on learning which will be fun and engaging. Through multi-sensory activities, child-driven projects, daily fitness, team building and leadership development, their programs are highly rated.
Right At School also features dynamic enrichment curriculum, in the form of two-week units. Some examples of these units include the following: “Getting Down to Business”, where students are introduced to finances and commerce from around the world. “Icky Experiments”, where students are introduced with sticky science experiments and projects while introducing chemistry and other science curriculum. “Variety Show”, where students perform and improve on their public speaking and teamwork skills. Right At School is also known for their partnerships with the community and parents, and will be discussing further with you what other classes and curriculum you may want for your child. Some of those programs may include music, world languages, computer coding, and martial arts.
We look forward to working with our parents and Right At School to ensure a safe, fun, and challenging academic before and after-school program for our students. Be sure to bring any questions you have to the Informational Meeting on October 18. We hope to see you there!
